Q. Is there something wrong with your navigation? There is blue text on a dark blue background?
A. If you are seeing navigation that looks like this, your browser's default text size is too large. Your should be seeing navigation that looks like this. You can adjust this in most browsers under the VIEW menu. In Internet Explorer, WRAL.com is best viewed with the text size set to MEDIUM. In Firefox, you can use the ZOOM IN/OUT controls to improve the page's appearance (make sure that "Zoom Text Only" is not checked).
Q. How do I change the name that appears next to comments that I make on WRAL.com news stories?

A. To change the default screen name, which is based on your e-mail address, you need to first be logged into WRAL.com using the "Log In" link above the Search box at the top of any page. Once logged in with the e-mail and password you provided at registration, click on the "My Account" link about the Search box. at Next, click "Create GOLO profile" if you haven't already created one. This is where you can specify a screen name and upload an image or avatar. If you already have a GOLO profile, click the "My GOLO Profile" link, scroll to the bottom of the profile box and click the EDIT PROFILE link. There you can specify a new screen name.

Q. Why am I unable to see your Doppler radar image at the top of every page, as well as other photos?
A. The most likely cause is an ad blocking program. In some programs, 120x90 images are blocked by default. Our Doppler thumbnail and many other preview images on the site are 120x90. You will need to check and change settings in your ad blocking program.

Q. Have you reduced the size of the text, or are you using thinner fonts?

A. We made no changes to the text size or fonts used on WRAL.com. We did remove a lot of background colors and images, creating more white space and the illusion that the text is smaller. In some cases, there is less space between headlines. We are working on some tweaks that should improve users' ability to scan and read headlines.

Q. Do I need to register with WRAL.com to view the Web site?

A. Registration is optional, but it provides users with many benefits, including is e-mail newsletters and breaking news and weather alerts. It also allows users to comment on stories or blog posts, and it is required for contest entries. Logged in users also can see personalized forecasts based on their location.

We require minimal information on our registration form. The only required fields are: e-mail, ZIP code, gender and birth year. None of the information provided to WRAL.com is shared with other companies without your permission.

Q. Where can I find live streaming of your newscasts?

A. We livestream ALL newscasts, and the latest newscast is always available on-demand until the next live newscast.

All video, whether livestreaming or on-demand clips, can be found inside the Video player. Simply click any video link, and our Flash-based player will load wih all of your video choices. You also can type the keyword "newscasts" into the search box to launch the player with the latest available newscast.

We will highlight the latest newscast and weather forecast in the video box on the homepage to make it easy to find and access. Also, you can search for live and on-demand video using the search box in the video player.

Q. Where can I find blogs?
A. There is a complete list of blogs within the News section. Blogs is one of the sub-navigation options below the main menu when you are in the News section. You also can type "blogs" into the Search box. We also now highlight the latest blog posts in the second column, and we post blog posts to appropriate sections of the site.
Q. Where can I find trivia quizzes?
A. Trivia quizzes can be found on the Entertainment page, along with Horoscopes, Lottery, Events and the Community Calendar. You also can get to quizzes by typing "quiz" or "quizzes" into the site search box at the top of every page.

Q. How can I find tonight's low temperature?

A. The night's forecast low is back by popular demand. We are now including it on the 7-Day Forecast image, and in the text forecast that is displayed on the page.

Q. What software or plug-ins do I need to play video?
A. Our video player uses Adobe Flash Player.

Chances are that you already have Flash installed on your computer. If not, it can be downloaded for free.

Q. Do I need to register with WRAL.com to view the Web site?

Q. There is content that I cannot find. What should I do?

A. The site search allows you to find just about any story, video clip, image or section using the site search, which is found on the right side of the main navigation menu at the top of each page. You also can try using the Sitemap, which is a link at the bottom of every page.

Q. Where can I find lake levels?

A. The lake levels are on the recreational weather page, and the link to that page can be found on the Weather page under the Health/Environment heading.

Q. Where can I find your Webcams, including the Wake SPCA or "puppy" cam?

A. Webcams can be found on the Weather page in the second column. The Wake SPCA Webcam image is not currently available, but it will be added soon.

Q. How can I make WRAL.com my homepage?
